Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening is a play written by Frank Wedekind in 1890. It deals with a group of young teenagers facing their fears. They discover doubt, fear of failure and of the future, wakening of the sexuality and desire.

The Collectif D'Terre is a company founded at the occasion of the universitary festival Coups de Théâtres. We wanted to show that event if the talk seems free about sexuality, people still have difficulties to cut loose with norms imposed by the society. The characters of Wendla and Melchior find today a brend new meaning.

The scenography was designed with Laura Severi. We worked on poetic images and an intemporal area. On the stage, two worlds are opposed : childrens and adults try to appropriate themselves the set.
